RIP EA Chicago

Donno how many of you follow the video game bizniz, but Electronic Arts just shut down their Chicago studio last week, letting about 150 of us go. Not for lack of talent or failure, but because the studio 'wasn't on track to be profitable until 2011'. Well DUR. We just renovated an entire building in downtown Chicago! We installed elevators! T3 lines! An entire audio studio! Built a roof deck! Of course we're in the red now, but give us a chance to pay that off!

Guh. Anyways. Long story short, I've got gobs of time on my hands to focus on personal projects now. Yes, I've started interviewing at various (cool) places, but hopefully I'll be able to crank out some stuff before hopping onto another freight train. First thing checked off the list was my spankin-new website:

Teaching myself flash, trying to sketch more, working on a few new scripts... thank God for a decent severance package -- gonna take advantage of the downtime for as long as it lasts...!

Here we go...

Well, after trying to maintain an 'Official' website, a Live Journal, a deviantart site, AND a day job, I've decided to throw in a Blogspot as well. I suspect quite deeply that, at some point, without my knowledge, I lost my mind.

But we'll do what we can to keep this up to date with biz-related stuff and sneaks, hopefully as projects start to take off. In the weeks to come, we'll run a little catch-up summary of what's gone before. And maybe, if we're lucky, we'll stop referring to ourselves in the plural. It's just me.
